2003: BACK IN THE STUDIO ==
Congratulations to Jenni on the birth of her daughter. 2003 sees Jenni and co. returning to the studio to continue work on new tracks. Curly is also embarking on a solo project - check out the DESSY track "Sunrise" with guest vocals from Jenni.

APRIL 2002 - FIREFLY SUPPORT GEMMA HAYES ON UKTOUR
LIVE: Firefly will be supporting Gemma Hayes at the Boat Race (Cambridge) on Tues 17th May. Firefly are on stage at 8pm, Tickets £6, Doors 7.30pm.

Gemma is signed to Virgin and will be fresh from her gig at the Shepherds Bush Empire with Tom McRae amongst others. Compared to Joni Mitchell, Gemma is interviewed in this month's Q magazine and one of her tracks is featured on their cover CD. If you haven't heard of Gemma, you soon will. Check out her single on Radio 1 and MTV.

MARCH 2002 - FIREFLY TO PLAY THE JUNCTION
LIVE: Firefly are confirmed to play The Junction on Thursday 18th April 2002 as part of The Wild Skies Tour. Doors open 7.30pm. £3.50

"Let's Party! The Wild Skies Tour rolls into Cambridge and promises to be a defining event in the history of the city's music scene. This marathon celebration of music features 11 acts from Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire kicks off at 20:00 with live music until midnight when DJs from the ever popular indie club 'Panic' take over until 2:00. Five singer songwriters will be performing in the upstairs lounge bar and five bands are booked for the main room."

JANUARY 2002 - DON'T BE AFRAID
ALBUM: Firefly finished recording there latest track Don't Be Afraid, a haunting folk ballad which mixes Irish and Jazz sounds with rich harmonies. The track debuts the musical talents of Pro Jazz player Johnny Brierley on Double Bass and Clare Hayes on the Irish Whistle.

DECEMBER 2001 - FIREFLY SELECTED FOR WILD SKIES
ALBUM: Firefly have been selected to record a track for the Wild Skies CD. Three years in the making and masterminded by Richard Brown, Wild Skies is a compilation CD showcasing nationally some of the best musical talent in Cambridgeshire. The project received £16,000 of lottery funding as is sponsored by The Junction, Cambridgeshire County Council and The Arts Council.

SEPTEMBER to DECEMBER 2001 - CABIN FEVER
ALBUM: Firefly are currently locked away at TRL Studios writing and recording material for their debut album. Check out the MUSIC section soon for some new tracks.

12 JULY 2001 - FIREFLY MAKING MORE WAVES
RADIO: BBC Radio Cambridgeshire have added Firefly's EP to their play list! For those in the county, you can tune in on 96 and 95.7FM.

12 JULY 2001 - FIREFLY'S "FANTASTIC" BOAT RACE GIG
LIVE: Firefly headlined at Cambridge's hallowed Boat Race. Nice Guy Dave kicked off the evening - well worth checking out. Firefly played a strong set running through tracks from the new album including The Wrong Wall, Longing To Be and songs from the debut EP. Thanks to everyone for coming along.

6 JULY 2001 - WILLOW FESTIVAL G-STRINGS!
LIVE: Firefly kicked off the Willow Festival in grand style. The band were ecstatic to find out that their huge marquee had the official festival bar at the other end! They played a 40 minute set. Matt (bass) almost lost his finger in the process and Mark's G-string ended up in the audience...

Thanks to everyone who came and a big hello to the new Firefly converts, including Allan Phillips who e-mailed us to say:

"Great session at Willow Festival on Friday evening. First time had seen the band, (only went to watch new punk stuff !), ended up really into FIREFLY. Good all round start to a great festival."

Jenni, Curly & Beccy played an acoustic set at the Cambridge Folk Club tonight, finishing off an excellent evening of live music. It was hot, sticky and late, but everyone stayed on to listen to Memories and an awesome cover of Sheryl Crow's "Difficult Kind". Catch them @ the Cambridge Folk Club again soon.

GIG: The band want to personally thank everyone who came to for last nights gig. It was a sell-out and Firefly had to play an unplanned encore as the crowd would not leave! Posters were ripped off the walls as new found groupies clamored for autographs. Madness!
