i am the previous owner of the lowrey nursery(oldest native plant nursery in tx) , current owner of the woodlands arboretum , and am concerned by the prevalent use of chemical fertilizers , fungicides and insecticides used in landscapes consisting primarily of non-benificial plants sucseptible to disease and insect infestation requiring continuos treatments to maintain health/looks .i have been researching rockdust fertilizer substitutes but have not found any commercial sources .
i am developing a plan to incorporate several'green' aspects into a large acreage tract , utilizing high efficiency concrete dome homes , rainwater cisterns , sewage utilization(biogas) , and beneficial plantings to reduce impact on enviroment , and reduce cost of living .
i want to experiment with a mini biogas system ,using a large trash can and organic matter(old fruit from my orchard).any suggestions ?

anaerobic composting ) to convert it to organic ( solid & liquid )
fertilizer.

The study and performance of this project are very urgent and we are in
urgent need for detailed offer taking into consideration that the intended
capacity is processing 800 Tons daily of garbages , and the ratio of organic
garbage is 60 percent.

Gas recovery is not included in this stage.

Trusting that the matter may receive your prompt attention.
Looking forward to receiving your kind offers soon.

With best regards

I have written to you already but due to the fact that there was a problem with the e-mail in the college
i had to change my e-mail address. I am a final year student and at the moment i am doing research for my
final year thesis which is a waste management facility for the south-east region.
Basically the information that i require from you would be the cost of actually building one of these plants.
We would be dealing with approximatly 70,000 tonnes of organic household waste per year so what would this cost
in terms of gas bags, effluent tanks, lids and the anaerobic rectangular tanks themselves.
Any information that you could give would be greatly appreciated.
Thanking you for your time,

I am a fourth year student in WIT, Waterford. At the moment i am doing research for my dissertation.
The project i am researching is a waste management facility for the south-east region of Ireland.
This facility will include anaerobic digestion for the tratment of organic household waste.
From doing research i have not been having much look in getting decent information on anaerobic digestors.
Your site has been very informative and interesting and i am interested in using a system like yours in the
project.
I would be most greatful if you could send me any additional information or drawings of your system. The plant
will have to deal with approximately 50,000 - 100,000 tonnes, maximum, of organic waste per year.
Any information that you can send me will be greatly appreciated and will be recognised with reference to you
in the dissertation.

Excellent site! I have been interested in this sort of technology for years and have finally made the time to become serious about it.I have an operation which I feel could be large enough to supply power to the grid.I am unsure of how and what it would take to do so and if it would even be feasable. I would be using primarally cow manuere and vegatable waste. If it seem to make sence connecting to the grid I am still very inerested in pursuing any schooling available to further my education of methane production.Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I have looked over your web site and found a wealth of excellent
information. It leads me to ask what Americans call a ballpark question;
can you give me a rough idea what the cost for a full installation
(design, build and commission) capable of processing 10 tonnes of animal
manure per day would be delivered to a site in Texas?

As I understand it, that facility would produce 442 kwh of electrical
power. So approximately 221 kwh would be available to sell after the
heating overhead of the digester is considered. Is this right?

I also wonder about the (again approximate) output of compost and final
processed material from a facility like this. I know there is a use for
this type of compost and fertilizer and want to get a notion of what
value it has for my project.

Thank you!

Our company is engaged in number of the field of wastewater treatment. We have so far executed turnkey jobs for the treatment of industrial wastewater based on upflow anaerobic sludge blanket process in last decade. The by-product of anaerobic treatment is biogas. One of our customers wants to put up power generation plant based on biogas. The anaerobic process generates about 800 m3/hr of biogas with 55% methane. One of our associates in USA suggested your company's name.

We would be interested to have your offer for power generation plant. Once we receive all tech.-commercial details, we can recommend our customer to consider your offer. We are in a position to sell number of CHP units of various capacities since we are actively involved in the business of anaerobic treatment of liquid wastewater.

We would like to know incase customer does want to go in for combined heat & power unit but only for power, will there be more generation of power. What will the exhaust temperature of gases in purely power generation unit?

We would like to know what maximum capacity of gas engine you manufacture. It will be better if you can send details of full range of gas engine you manufacture.

On receipt of your offer & after knowing the views of our customer the undersigned would like to visit your office in Northern Ireland on way to US business trip so as to discuss terms to suit mutual interest.

Incase undersigned wants to visit your office and some of your installation kindly guide as to how to reach your office from London.

I appreciate your website information. I am interested
in information regarding the short and long term effects
of inhaling Hydrogen Sulfide gas. I live near a landfill
that is about 30ft from my home. There is constantly
a terrible rotten egg smell in the air that I believe is due to
to the levels of H2S in the landfill. There is also a dust
cloud that hovers over the landfill and over the neighborhood
that strips off the paint from all the nearby homes and
cars. - if you have any idea about what that dust-like cloud might
be, please let me know.

I am very interested in complete ADG/CHP systems installed and
operating at municipal WWTPs, but have had difficulty finding
case studies. Such a system is installed at our local WWTP,
but was mothballed in 1990 due to poor gas output, unreliable
gas control mechanisms, and a poorly designed engine. We
currently buy utility gas to heat the digester and flare the
ADG. My senior project is to analyze this system's shortcomings
and evaluate alternatives to better use the resources already
there. I am particularly interested in state of the art modular
micro-turbine systems.

Any leads to materials regarding existing systems of this nature
would be greatly appreciated.

Appreciate your web-site, information, and connections. AMRGT is attempting to develop a mobile biogas generator/gas-turbine operation using wood fiber. The current unbelievable low prices in petrl still allows 200 mile hauls of wood chips to CHP uts to be cost-effective. But the foot work and paper work should be done by the time oil prices get real again.

A very interesting site, and very informative indeed.

I am interested in establishing a biogas plant in the Lagos area to hand a mix of municipal solid waste which might be difficult to sort. The sole aim of this plant is for gas collection and sales of the residuals as organic fertilizer. The gas will be bottled and sold.

Can this operation be possibly carried out?
Can you please inform me of the cost implications of this project?
Can you digesters handle this operation?

I would be glad if you reply to this query as I am strongly interested in doing business with you.

Please send me any other information that might be useful to me.

Thank you.

excellent, you should be very busy, but hope you have time to respond if you believ that the banana peel waste from a banana puree plant will be good for bio-gas, the aviability of banana peels is 8.000 tons/year, What will be the capacity of a generator for this amount of waste rough ?? HOW MUCH WILL COST A the GENERATOR??? and the total project roughly???

please give us some time.

A VERY GOOD & INFORMATIVE SITE! Researching for a biogas system that could be set up using chicken litter. We raise about 300,000 broilers a year using sawdust as litter. We also are increasing our small herd to 20 cows. We feel this would be a good base to set up a digester using this waste to generate electricity. This would offset the cost of operation and help clean up our environment.

Nice page - one of the best (ie least garish and cluttered) sites I
have seen.

Unfortunately my interest is on a purely domestic scale, to wit:

- we have a pony;
- aforementioned quadruped produces about 2 tons of pony-pooh/year;
- we have to muck out her stable and field;

Therefore we would like to produce both manure and gas in a very low-
cost and simple fashion.

Ideas anyone?

Very interesting issues for Europe(where I am also coming from:Germany), but I have hoped to find some information about a system to convert chicken manure semiliquid into dry organic fertilizer pellets.
I believe that your digester might be helpful in the design of such a process as the Biogas created during the conversion can help to improve the energy balance when it comes to the drying of the converted manure. Maybe you can suggest some ideas or let me know if there is a ready process available.
If not I might be able to create this process using your digester system.

I am an attorney in Port-au-Prince Haiti and one of my pro bono projects is assisting this non profit organization that treats addictions.

They are supporting arounf 70 persons and are very poor and would accept any sort of assistance in whatever domain that could be of use to both their transient and permanent community.

They have expressed and interest in biogas and I felt the need to seek information on the subject for them with the hope that the search would nring them the plan to allow them to build a small generating unit.

The information gives a good overall summary of the technology currently in use. We have been invaded by corporate hog farming operations using open lagoon systems relying on efluent evaporation and application through center-pivot irrigation. There has to be a better way to deal with the waste and I believe you have it. I would appreciate futher information on your systems and pricing. I am from a 4th generation farming family and instruct biological sciences at the local community college. Many of us are concerned about the decline in our quality of life and lack of stewardship exhibited by our corporate neighbors. Perhaps a system such as yours could provide a suitable compromise in our area. Thank you.

I am always glad to see organised attention was paid to the serious issues affecting the Earth. Use of biogases will go a long way toward reducing greenhouse gases in our biosphere.
Good job!

This web site is very informative. I live in an area of massive cattle raising. Farmers are not knowledgeable about these anaerobic digesters and their processes, what is the best way to educate them, and where could I get the info. I woulden't classify myself as a tree hugger, but I'm very concerned. Thank you for your time!

A very neat and useful site.
I'm interested in Anaerobic Digestion, composting, energy production on a municipal scale. Recently I sent out the following letter to potential interested parties. Have you any ideas?
Our client is seeking a strategic partner to provide expertise and possibly finance to develop an anaerobic digestion composting plant in Israel.

The plant should be able to process approximately 500 tpd of municipal organic waste. The plant will receive organic material only.

We would like to hear from you if you have experience of processing 100,000 tpy and above and if you have knowledge of energy utilization of methane gas.

Please provide us with details of your experience and if possible information on where similar plants have been developed.

For more details please contact Mr. Perry Davies at the address below.

Many thanks,
