In 1967 petrol was 3p a litre- 30 years later it is approximately 20 times that price. If energy prices rise at the same rate they have in the past, by the time the mortgage is paid off it will cost 20,000 -40,000 pounds per year to heat a 4 bedroomed house purchased today! This at a time when due to the low number of people born after 1965 and the longer life of people, the State Pension will decline from about one third of average male earnings in the UK to between 7% and 2% of average male earnings.

Our aim is to create buildings and communities that produce Zero carbon-dioxide and use very little energy. Its good for the environment, its good for people - it saves people's pensions and the need to burn expensive fossil fuels to heat you when you are old.

Practically Green can provide any of the following options :

Design advice to the purchaser to reduce heating costs to close to zero

Calculation of heat balance for the building including different insulation levels, window types and heating systems.

Design advice and drawings on CAD for presentation to an architect.

Full drawings

Design/build package including selection of the builder and monitoring of the site.

The best time to get Practically Green involved is before the site is chosen.
