Practically Green Inverters

Inverters are 'black boxes' of electronics that convert 12 or 24 volt battery output into the mains voltage 240volts AC. Thus it is possible to run light electrical equipment like TVs, Radios, microwave ovens (normally without a radient heater element), lighting and security systems off the mains. Generally if you want to operate pumps, motors, large fans, etc. it is better and cheaper to use a standby generator - you can find these in the Practically Green Lifestyle Shop. However, occasionally used motors up to 3/4HP (0.5kW) and some power tools may be connected to the larger inverters in our range. Avoid connecting large electric elements to these units like kettles, diswashers and fires!

It is important to know what the load is before selecting a suitable inverter. Please make a list of the equipment you want to power, its wattage (from the label on the equipment), and then give Practically Green a call or send an email for a quotation for a suitable unit.
