At last a team with 9 players to play against!!
Bomber Harris started proceedings and, as is normal at this venue, played St Anne's attractive blonde player. He cruised to a comfortable 2-0 win, a 15 dart game in the second leg, and then won the card which was being organised by the same blonde. Next up was 'No Fear' Tune who lost the first leg but then put in a 14 and a 15 dart game to win 2-1.
'The Old Bill' Townsend played at number three winning 2-1 with a 15 dart game in the third leg. At number four was Deano Willis who doesn't seem to be able to repeat his practice form in matches. He lost 2-0 in what was a poor performance.
Alan 'The Has Been' Smith played at number five and struggled in the first leg but still won it. In the second he obviously decided to step up a gear finishing in 11 darts including a 160. 'Big M' Franks was at number six against another woman from St Annes. He was taken aback in the first leg by some very good darts. In the second and third his opponent ran him fairly close but Mark eventually came out the winner 2-1 securing the team victory.
'Cowboy' Dave played at number seven, scored quite well but lost 2-0. Our Captain 'Bulldog' was at number eight and also lost 2-0. He broke first dart in both legs cruised to his double but couldn't finish.
Last up was John 'Smokey' Savage who produced a 15 dart game in the first leg and threw steady darts in the second to win 2-0.
The team have got two weeks off now although all players are involved in the league's singles knock-out. Hopefully some of our players will make it through to the finals on December 1st. Our next match is on December 8th in the second round of the Knock-out Cup but we don't yet know who we are playing or where.
