15 December - The Victoria (Home) - Won 7-2

The Victoria represented an unknown quantity, being new to the league. They should fit in well though as they failed to field a full team like so many others this season.

Bomber Harris was away working so Jeff 'No Fear' Tune stepped up to fill the number one spot. Jeff arrived at the pub quite late and had to play straight away. This seemed to faze him in the first leg which he lost despite a 140. In some ways he was lucky to win the second leg as his opponent struggled to finish. In the third he was also behind but managed an 84 shot out to clinch the game.

It was Deano Willis' birthday but he was providing the presents as he lost 0-2 despite two tons including a 140. The Webmaster made his first appearance of the season at number three and it was good to see that he was less affected by nerves than in previous outings. He still lost 0-2 but there are signs of promise. The Old Bill played in his usual spot and played his "Get out of Jail Free" card in winning 2-1. Match score now 2-2

In at number five the steadily improving Steve 'the dart' Davies. Although not playing a top drawer opponent his 2-0 win represented further evidence of the gains he has made this season. Big M threw at number six not breaking sweat as he cruised to a 2-0 win. This made the match score 4-2 and indeed 7-2 as The Victoria failed to provide any further players. Alan Smith, John Savage and Terry Galt are therefore all credited with a 2-0 win. Next match is away to the Prince Hal, one of the less salubrious venues in the league. We'll be looking for an early Christmas present in the form of a win and an exit without injury.
