You can now join Orange and bring your O2, T-Mobile, Vodafone or Virgin number with you! Freedom from years of poor service, seize the opportunity today!
Why should you join Orange?
Orange is unlike any other mobile phone network and for the fifth year running was voted the number one mobile network in the UK for customer satisfaction in studies conducted by J.D.Power and Associates (1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 & 2002). The 2000 J.D. Power and Associates UK Mobile Customer Satisfaction Study also noted that among those contemplating switching networks, Orange is cited most often as the potential future provider. Plus, it's the UK's best performing digital mobile network, covering over 99% of the UK population with more transmitters in more places than any other UK digital mobile phone network. Orange has some unique services and its international roaming is the most comprehensive and cost effective of any UK network.
How long will it take?
The process of transferring a number between networks will normally take 7 days. In the meantime you have the option to connect to Orange straightaway with a temporary number so you can enjoy the benefits of Orange immediately. Your existing number will then be transferred to your Orange phone after the normal 7 day wait.
Can old handsets be used?
GSM900 handsets cannot be used on the Orange network. In addition, all Orange phones have been specifically designed for use on the Orange network - other phones may not provide you with the level of service you can expect from Orange. Therefore you must join Orange with a new Orange handset.
How much does it cost to bring a number?
There are no additional charges from Orange for changing networks and keeping your number. When you join Orange you will pay the normal Orange phone and network charges and callers will be able to take advantage of low Orange to Orange rates to ring you.
Will there be an extra charge for having a number not originally from Orange?
Absolutely not. Any customer who joins Orange whether they have an Orange number or have brought a number with them will benefit from the standard Orange rates. This includes friends and colleagues calling your ported number now on Orange, they will only be charged the low Orange to Orange rate.
Will callers be charged any more for calls?
No, they will be charged in exactly the same way.
What about fax and data numbers?
You can bring additional numbers too. Additionally you can still receive text messages (SMS) on your ported number.
Can pre-pay customers change too?
Pre-pay subscribers can join Orange with their existing number as well.
Is there still a 14 day satisfaction period?
Yes, this will run from when you are connected even with a temporary number.
What is the procedure?
Select the phone you want to order from us, and click ORDER. When you complete the online order form make sure you tell us that you wish to port a number.
At the same time you need to call your current service provider (the people who bill you monthly) and request a Porting Authority Code (PAC), you provide us with this, and we then arrange for your number to transfer. This will take seven days.
