Originally set up in 1996 using the name Freedom Phones, the business grew and grew and has now become one of the web's leading mobile phone, cordless phone and data product retailer. We are specialists, who do much more than simply sell people boxes. We aim to sell solutions that work, and this ensures all our customers will be satisfied. In December 2000 the business was renamed, and a new shareholder was brought on board. Like the founder this investor has many years experience in mobile telecoms, and is providing much extra expertise and support in this exciting new phase of the company's development. We think it's an unbeatable team! Freedom Mobiles is now operating the first of our high street retail outlets, and this will give customers increasing confidence to buy from a retailer not just operating off the internet but willing to make large investments in traditional bricks and mortar. Of course like all professional businesses Freedom Mobiles are registered for VAT with Customs and Excise, listed at Companies House and registered to comply with the terms of the Data Protection Act. Additionally the company is affiliate members of the Nokia Academy and importantly for ecommerce have been granted Which? Webtrader status, which means we undertake to comply to certain guidelines. One of the things we are most proud of is the online guestbook, where real customers have left their comments. We are always happy to hear from any customers past, present or future with any comments or criticisms. • All calls to Freedom Mobiles are answered within 30 seconds, if we are unable to deal with your query immediately we undertake to call you back within 4 "working" hours.
• We undertake to call all customers the day of delivery to gauge satisfaction with the product as well as our service, which we believe is second to none.

• We may occasionally contact you from time to time, to let you know about special offers or new products which we believe could be of interest; this will be by email or post, we have included on our application form a check box to opt out of such communications.

• We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998) and according to the Which? Web Trader Code of Practice.
• We collect information about you for 2 reasons: firstly, to process your order and second, to provide you with the best possible service. We respect customers' privacy and all personal details taken are essential, for example, to connect a contract mobile phone. In this case we will pass your details to the relevant network operator, they in turn usually consult a credit checking agency, in a similar process to when you apply for a personal loan. We can inform you the name and address of the agency used if you wish, just call or email for this. None of your details leaves the UK.
• We do not pass your information to any other third parties.
• We will not e-mail you in the future unless you have given us your consent. We will give you the chance to refuse any marketing email from us in the future.
• The type of information we will collect about you includes:
your name, address, phone number, email address, credit/debit card details and for any contract connection details such as occupation and date of birth are also required.
• We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent, and only ask this if it is essential, if we ask it we therefore need it so please provide us with this, without it your order for a mobile will be delayed.
• The information we hold will be accurate and up to date. You can check the information that we hold about you by emailing us. If you find any inaccuracies we will delete or correct it promptly.
• The personal information which we hold will be held securely in accordance with our internal security policy and the law and the Which? Web Trader Code.
• We may use technology to track the patterns of behaviour of visitors to our site. This can include using a "cookie" which would be stored on your browser. You can usually modify your browser to prevent this happening. The information collected in this way can be used to identify you unless you modify your browser settings.
• If you have any questions/comments about privacy, you should email us.

• For all new contract mobile phone connections, except T-Mobile, you can return the phone and free accessories within 14 days from the day we connect your phone for a refund and cancellation of your contract, although naturally you will have to pay for any charges incurred whilst you were using the phone. We will charge an administration fee of £10 per returned phone based on the charges the networks levy upon us for returns. Please note that on 1st May 2003 T-Mobile withdrew their 14 day satisfaction guarantee.
• Any other goods may be returned to us within 7 days for a full refund. The goods must be complete and in original condition, this includes the packaging, so that it can be resold as new to someone else. Software purchases are specifically excluded as per the distance selling regulations.
