This is the first handheld smartphone with a colour screen and stylus operation. The front flip which functions as normal phone buttons can be detached altogether, or left in place and simply flipped down for full PDA use. In use the P800 is highly intuitive, and a number of operations can be performed simply by using the Sony jog-dial on the side of the phone. There are also one touch buttons for accessing the internet browser or camera. The phone runs the Symbian operating system, which as well as being highly reliable is very powerful and has evolved with the joint backing of companies such as Psion and Nokia. Additionally it will run Java programs hundreds of which can be downloaded adding extra functionality to this "office in your pocket". There is 12Mb of storage built in to the P800, but you can extend this easily using Sony Memory Stick Duo cards. Included:
