There are a number of self help groups available and I've listed some that you can contact who will be able to give you advice and help, although many of them deal with all types of allergies, they do have members and advice for those of you with LI. Why not contact them, they are run by volunteers, so please be patient and remember to send a stamped address envelope at all times.

Together Another interesting group of people who produce a mailing
list. The group deals with all food allergies and can be useful to visit.

well worth a visit and is full of information and especially food alerts. Do

Milk
alternatives An interesting site that looks at how to make
alternatives to cow's milk. The site is aimed at beating the milk subsides in
the US but the information is useful.
Dodging
dairy: handling food allergies This is dated May 1995 from the San
Diego Earth Times. The page talks about alternatives to dairy products including
cheese, milk, etc. Most of the information is around on this site as well as
others.
Lactose Intolerance This site is part of the National
Digestive Diseases Information Clearinghouse. This is a site worth visiting for
basic information and often repeated on other sites, but here is the
original.
ADHD and Living Milk-Free This site is for people who are
celiacs, however it is full of useful information on milk intolerance as related
to celiacs. If you suffer from wheat and milk intolerance take a
visit.
LFL desserts
This site belongs to the author Sheri Updike who wrote "The
Lactose-Free Cookbook" Sheri's book is available in the UK and the information
on the site is excellent. Do visit.
The Mind-Body Digestive
Center The site has a lot of resources and information on the
mind-body link of digestive disorders such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and many
other diseases including women's health issues and Fibromyalgia. Their treatment
protocol looks at the experience and meaning of having IBS in a person's life.
We are concerned with how the mind and the body are linked, including IBS
symptomatology, family background, current relationships and ongoing sources of
life stress.

anyone dealing with asthma and allergies, particularly potentially
life-threatening allergies.

The organization produces lots of information about all forms
of allergies and also where to find the nearest allergy clinic, NHS/private
specialist and specialist State Registered Dietitian. They also produce a very
informative newsletter. Again this is a small charity run by volunteers
please if you write to them send an SAE. Membership is £UK10 per year and
they provide an excellent newsletter 3 times a year. The AAA also provide
information packs on a number of subjects at UK£2.00 each and a suppliers list
of health and home care products for allergy suffers at UK£2.50 (inc.P & P).

about your allergy, and is especially useful if you suffer extreme reactions to
any dairy product or if you are anaphylactic.

in the British Isles or Ireland sponsorship is available for those on limited
income to obtain a bracelet.
