The Millennium Lunch Club: luncher hall of fame
The World's First Official Lunch has been Eaten!
This lunch took place in the neuro ward of the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel - a fashionable part of town - in a ward for road accident victims. The luncher appears solitary though in fact he was witnessed millennium-lunching by 1) the ward sister [who entered into a detailed discourse on the various geographical sites of her own sushi lunches], 2) five nurses [who in turn discussed the millennium and then lunch], 3) fellow road accident victims; Mr Brain and Michael Douglas, 4) a patient who met a piece of scaffolding at the other end of his neighbours arm, 5) a boy whose toes had been shot right off.
Thanks to Claire Canning of Tank magazine for telling us about her lunching friend, who remains anonymous.
