We've been around for 19 years now . We have no ambition to be huge . All we seek is to be happily and honestly employed selling you the best value fishing tackle we can source .
We are proud to be able to state that we have never knowingly stiffed any customer no matter how much they asked for it !
Our major problem is that we suffer from a huge depth of knowledge of almost all aspects of trout fishing ( and a few other specialisms ) . We are particularly strong on Flydressing and Specialist Equipment ; Flyrods , Flylines and Casting , Stillwater Boat Bank and Floattube Flyfishing , even Flyreels and all sensible accessories . Our knowledge and professionalism reflect in the restricted range of what we stock . If it isn't up to it we won't touch it .
If it is the very best we have no compunction in sourcing it from outside the UK
Our main business is in making and supplying fishing tackle into the Wholesale Trade . There aren't that many of us left in the UK making fishing tackle . We are violently pro British and anti poor value worldwide copyists and low level forgers - we know that if we buy British we Export Unemployment - we like doing just that . We Tie Flies , Handmake Rods , Machine Floattubes and a very wide range of ancilliary equipment , we Source , Treat and Dye a vast range of Flydressing Materials , we Commission other Manufacturers to Produce for us to our own Designs . We are more interested in solving our own Fishing problems than getting rich !
And also we will admit to being viciously partial to Wholesalers and Manufacturers , if we don't like them or what they stand for we don't touch their gear .
We know the difference between Fishing Tackle and nonFishing Tackle - we don't sell the latter . And we detest overmarketting and will point out to everybody that the worst advertising copy always stems from non-users - there are a lot of nonfishermen making tackle and palming it off - right round the World !
We fish a lot and our arrogant - seeming attitude stems from this . We'll test it before we sell it and if it isn't any good not only don't we stock it - we'll tell you why in words of one syllable . We can be wrong but it is a rarity !
We don't follow the latest fashions until we have tried them personally - most new gear entering the fishing market has been either undertested or just plain untested .
So bear with us if we ask you what you want it for instead of just taking your order . We are trying to get you the best most professional solution to your requirement and it will always be the cheapest in the long run . We always specially help Disabled Flyfishers .

Loomis then welcomed us with open arms. And we did ok building on their blanks.
But eventually we have decided after Loomis twice changed distributors in a very short time to formally discontinue any involvement with any American Blank or rod manufacturer .
There are other reasons - firstly that we have seen the steady development by Dr Harrison of British Made Blanks of identical tip actioned styles to those favored by Americans generally . Nowadays British rods are at least as good if not practically better than American and they are far far cheaper ! And we can build them with proper handles and top grade rings suitable for British conditions .
Secondly the growing realisation that Americans are pretty useless at all forms of Stillwater Fly Fishing - when will they even place at World Cup Level ? And when was the last time you met any normal American who could cast as far as you could !
So you had better ask yourself why do you want to buy rods from a nation of useless performers and do they know anything about stillwater rods at all except about cosmetising , advertising and marketting ?
Thirdly the movement of manufacture by Americans from America to the Far East . Not all major Americans are doing this yet but many very definitely are and prices of goods moved into and out of the USA have not been reduced to reflect alternative sourcing - no surprise there ! Recent Court Submissions in Forgery actions have revealed that even the longest established and ostensibly most respectable American Companies are not above having their finishing cheaply done in the Orient .
And finally American rods also suffer from the multiplier effect when bought in the UK - they are almost invariably twice as expensive as identicals bought in the USA . Frankly, if you really do want an American rod you are insane if you don't buy it in the USA .
It takes less than 2 hours of labour and £25 worth of components to make , fit , ring (and even provide a rodbag for ) an American Trout Rod of any kind in Carbon Fibre - the most expensive input is the tube they come in - and could you justify a price of £600 on that basis ? I won't any longer .
MESSAGE TO ALL AMERICAN ROD MAKERS - Honest - if you pay me for the consultation I will gladly advise you confidentially of how the British Market works and I'll even find you the right person to undertake your Importation or I'll tell you if you have no chance at all . I can't stand the series of pure cock ups that Americans have made in this marketplace over the last two decades . It has been really grieving me a lot ! LECTURES
Having somewhat recovered from being rather unwell a few years ago I have resumed my former bad habits of going out at night and talking to groups - often of fisherfolk !
This is usually accompanied with an appropriate Slide Show - most of the contents are very unprintable and the anecdotes are frequently litigious . And you can even have fun and ask real questions if you like !
But the wife says if I am putting myself under stress and strain lecturing I have to charge sensibly for it . So it's £125 plus VAT and Travelling and you also get to feed me before I start .
TUITION
I am still teaching a little - mainly casting and flydressing . They even put me on the Education and Training Committee of the Salmon and Trout Association - I did the light relief I suppose ! - then the Committee got reorganised ! Then they went nuts over political rectitude and wanted me to go on courses for Paedophilia and Wimmins Rights , Race Relations and Religious Issues - and the like - frankly I'm just too old for this sort of bollocks so I have formally dropped out of all organisations of Instructors ! Anyway I carry my own insurance ! And I've been checked off through the Criminal Records Office and apparently I'm formally not a pervert - yet !
I'm not stopping teaching for fun and profit so if you want politically incorrect instruction in Casting , Flydressing and how to actually catch fish just you give me a shout . But do me a favour and don't try to involve me in teaching children !
Day Trips - If you are interested in accelerated learning and you are willing to pay all expenses and £75 + VAT then I will fish with you for a day - and you get to keep all the fish ! And you can book Bob Church through us as well !
For one on one casting and groups I only charge a tenner an hour ! Just ring up and book me - I was once a Birthday Present for somebody ! ( And we won't discuss that one any further ! )
ADVICE
I never mind giving advice over the phone . Unless , that is you are going to spend your money somewhere else . So please don't waste my time and I won't give you bad advice either because I have recently been known to do that when I thought someone was taking undue advantage !
