Southport Rugby Club Youth Section is holding free introductory rugby coaching sessions at Waterloo Road in July.

These sessions are being run in conjunction with the local multi-agency ‘Smartplay’ initiative aimed at getting youngsters ‘off the streets’ and involved in recreational activities. This year’s scheme is also being supported by Sefton Community Foundation and sponsorship from Tesco’s community fund.

The event is open to boys and girls from 6 to 14 years of age. They are free of charge and no rugby experience is required.

The sessions will be run by the club’s R.F.U. qualified coaches.

It starts on Monday 1^st July and continues on Tuesday 2^nd, Monday 8^th, Monday 15^th, and Monday 22^nd July.

Registration is from 6.00 pm and the sessions will run from 6.30 to 7.30 (approx)

We advise wearing ‘trainers’ only and not boots with studs.

Southport RUFC provides coaching in Rugby Union for young players (and also competitive fixtures / games) during the season from September to May.
