These are all 'miniature prints' - a few oldies, but mostly from the triennial British International Miniature
Print Exhibitions of 1997 and 2000. The current one tours the UK for the next two years, and started in London in Feb. 2000. I
usually buy a dozen or so of the more traditional representational works as I find the quality very high and the
technical expertise displayed often impossible to comprehend. Competition rules are plates under 70 square cm. Total
exhibit is about 280 works, covering every medium and style you could imagine (and some you couldn't). I'm afraid
the weird stuff doesn't look any more impressive by being tiny, to my eye, whereas the traditional things do. Well
I'm just a simple old fashioned old fart at heart I suppose.....
