General Note
on Prices, Payment, Postage and VAT

Prices and Payment

All prices are NETT in sterling pounds (GBP), and valid for one year from the date of the list. However, items marked NEW before the price are generally books in-print and are subject to publishers' price increases without notice. Arrangement for payment should accompany orders from individuals. Invoices for institutional orders should be paid within 60 days from receipt of the books.

To facilitate the process of ordering and despatch of books customers may pay by using any of the following methods:

Credit Cards

We accept Visa, Access, Master Card or Eurocard. Please phone or fax your card details to us or complete the details on the order form.

Cheques

We accept cheques in sterling pounds (GBP) drawn on a bank in the U.K. or the Channel Islands. Non-U.K. customers may pay using US dollar cheques at current rates of exchange without additional charge. If payment is to be made in any other currency, GBP10.00 should be added to the total value of the order to cover conversion charges. Euro-cheques made out in sterling pounds (GBP) are accepted. Cheques in sterling pounds drawn on foreign banks are NOT accepted.

Postage

Postage is in addition to the price of books.
To facilitate calculation of pre-paid orders note:

Inland

Add GBP3.25 for the first book ordered, and GBP1.00 for each additional book up to a maximum total of GBP4.80.

Overseas

Books are sent by surface mail unless otherwise requested by the customer
. Add GBP4.00 for the first book ordered and GBP1.50 for each additional book, to cover postage and insurance.
If required, books can be sent by air mail (book rate). Orders for five books or less, add GBP6.00 for the first book ordered and GBP3.00 for each additional book. For orders exceeding five books, quotations will be made on request.
Postage will always be calculated to the advantage of the customer, whether books are sent by surface mail or air mail. Excess pre-payments (made by cheque or bank transfer) due to non-availability of books ordered or lesser postage charges, will automatically be credited to customer's account against future purchases, unless a refund is specifically requested.

VAT
(Value Added Tax)

This tax relates ONLY to customers within the EU (European Union). At the present there is no VAT on books in the U.K. EU regulations, however, require that we must mention our VAT number and our customer's VAT number (if registered for VAT) on any invoice to an EU destination. Our VAT number is: GB 493 7403 24. Customers from the EU (and registered for VAT) are kindly requested to provide their VAT numbers when placing an order.
