Yes, I Run Workshops

For the moment I've put up the notes I could find easily.

The workshops at Coombe Bissett 1996 and Coombe Bissett 1997 are getting a bit dated, but you may find the material and/or viewpoints interesting nonetheless.

I'm working on the notes from the choreography workshop at the Locomotive, I'll get to those as soon as I fix the dead links where I've moved all the pages around. And I've finally finished the somewhat voluminous notes for the Stave Dance workshop at Eastleigh.

Let me know what you think.

I also played for Roy Dommett's Cotswold Curriculum workshop, and I'm working on some notes from that as well, so watch this space.

I welcome comments. You can mail me (from the pull-down, or the list at the bottom if you have Javascript turned off). I can always be persuaded to discuss this stuff, preferably over a pint or two, although you can email me and I'll take the laptop down to the pub to write the reply so that it feels authentic. Or, I can run these or other workshops again: if you need a workshop, feel free to try me...

...and if anyone else has notes from the Cotswold Curriculum, or from any of my other workshops, I'd welcome copies. If you've got electronic versions of any of my stuff, I'm particularly interested and I'll gladly credit you, or return the favour if I can.

Where've I Been?

Working, mostly, though Doc Rowe's "Blood, Booze and Bedlam" was predictably superb. Slightly different each time round, so that this time there were plenty of new ones I hadn't seen. A must, if it comes round your way. I commend you to details of the Doc Rowe Collection Support Group and to track down "The Future of Things Past" on video. And plenty of discussion of "What is Morris?" At times Sidmouth seemed like the MDDL come to life. Speaking of Sidmouth, any takers for "Monochord and Percussion for Morris" as a workshop title?

I've got upcoming music (arrangement and composition) and choreography workshops. I'd welcome contributions with regard to taking elements of social dance to make performance, if you've opinions you'd like to air in the comfort of your own home.
