PLEASE NOTE: WE CAN ONLY ACCEPT CONTRACTS FROM UK RESIDENTS WITH A CONVENTIONAL FIXED-LINE PHONE!
This document is the online version of the Cyberchat Operator's Guide that explains how our telephone hot-line works, how to set it up and what happens when you receive a call from our system.
It will also hopefully demonstrate just how simple the system is to use and how easy it is to become an operator .
We suggest that you read this document through and then, if you think you have what it takes, download the the contract which you can print, complete and return to:
Operator ContractsIf you do not have this facility then email us and we will be pleased to snail mail you a copy.
If you have never used a voice system before you may feel a little daunted at the prospect of setting everything up properly.
The most important thing to remember is that there is nothing you can do that will mess the system up!
Any settings or recordings you make can be changed and changed again until you are happy with them.
All we need from you is a copy of your signed contract before we can issue you with your own operator number and PIN.
Once you have your own Operator number and PIN, re-read this guide then work through this short check list of things you need to do to set yourself up on the system.
Think of what you want to say on one of your recordings.
Phone the hot line and dial in your operator Number and PIN.
Choose option 4 (change your telephone number), dial your phone number then a #
Choose option 3 (change recordings), enter the group you want, and make the recording.
We can then put a few test calls through to you and train you on how to use CyberChat. Dont worry, it's easy.
You may access the Hot-Line call from any 'touch-tone' phone. Our system will answer on the first ring.
You will be asked to dial your operator number and PIN.
Once you have dialled your number and PIN the system will tell you if you are currently logged-on or not.
If you have not yet set up your telephone number it will tell you.
You will then hear the following list of choices :-
You do not have to listen to the whole list before making your choice, just dial the number of the option you want and you will be taken straight there.
When you want to start receiving calls use this option.
When you select this option you will be asked for how many hours, starting from now, you want to receive calls.
Dial the number of hours, between one and nine.
Remember that you must record a greeting and set your telephone number (options 3 and 4) before you can do this!
You can stop receiving calls at any time by using this option
Callers choose who they want to speak to by listening to recordings made by operators who are working.
The better your recordings are the more calls you will get, the more calls the more money you earn!
The system tells you which recordings are getting callers to choose you, so you can use this to work out which recordings work and which don't.
If you are not getting any calls from a particular message re-record it.
It is also worth re-recording your good messages periodically as they get 'tired' after a while and the callers get bored listening to the same messages all the time.
You may record a greeting for as many groups as you like but try to make the greeting appropriate to the group.
The description callers hear for each group, with their two digit group numbers are as follows :-
These are the groups that get the most callers.
| Group 50 | General message |
| Group 51 | General message |
| Group 35 | For a warm welcome to first time callers |
| Group 24 | If you would prefer an intimate 1-2-1 with a mature housewife |
| Group 41 | Dominant females |
| Group 39 | Female figures of authority - Headmistress / Matron / Nurse Etc |
These groups get quite a few callers.
| Group 30 | For the TV enthusiast we have a selection of experienced maids |
| Group 21 | For a selection of party girls who just want to have fun |
These only get a few callers.
| Group 33 | Finally some women who just wont conform to a single category |
| Group 27 | For sympathetic females who will share a problem |
And Finally the only groups where there are no restrictions on what you say.
| Group 36 | Strictly adults only - Domination |
| Group 37 | Strictly adults only - Randy housewives |
| Group 38 | Strictly adults only - Nymphomaniacs |
When you select this option you will be asked to dial the group number you want to change your greeting in.
When you record you will be prompted to record after the tone.
When you have finished speaking press any button on your telephone and you will hear the menu again.
You can record and listen as many times as you like, until you are happy with it
Don't forget to dial a six to save your recording.
If your recording is shorter than 5 seconds then it is automatically deleted by the system
You can use this to delete a message from a section by just recording a short greeting then saving it by dialling six.
When you select this option you will be asked to dial the telephone number on which you want to receive calls, followed by the hash # key.
The system will then read back your telephone number back to you. Remember to include your dialling code.
You only need to enter your telephone number once, or when you want to receive calls on a different telephone number.
The system will not let you use a mobile phone to receive calls.
When you select this option you will be asked to dial your new four digit PIN number, you will then be asked to re-dial it.
If you dial the same PIN number both times your PIN will be updated.
If you have any problems or suggestions and can't get hold of us on (01375) 393399 then you can leave us a message by dialling 7.
Please leave your operator number and telephone number so I can get back to you.
Every now and then, when I make any changes to the system I record a new what's new bulletin, dial a star to listen to it.
There are two ways callers can get to speak to you. By listening to your greetings and by using your extension number.
When a caller hears one of your greetings and selects to speak with you, our system will phone you on the telephone number that you have set up. When you answer, it will say :-
You have a call for group 21, dial your PIN number or star to reject.
If you dial a star you can hang up. You will be automatically logged off, for two hours by the system if you reject a call. You can reject any call if it is inconvenient, but we would much prefer that you log yourself off when you are unavailable. The callers get all upset if they hear your greeting and then can't get to speak to you!
If you dial your PIN number, the system will say, Thank you. You will then be connected to the caller.
I wont try to explain the basic working of CyberChat here, as trying it for yourself is a much better way of getting to know it. And you will be given training on the operation of cyberchat before you start.
The list below shows you what the buttons on your phone do, while you are in CyberChat. Those options marked with a star * are only available to you, and not the caller.
1 Press twice to butt in *
8 Warn caller *
9 Hang up
0 Finished talking
You can give your callers your own extension number so that they can get back to you again easily.
This is a good way of building your call minutes, by giving callers what they want, they will want to talk to you again and again.
Our system uses 5 digit extension numbers. The first three digits of your extension number are the same as the last three digits of your operator number.
The last two digits are the group number.
Lets say your operator number is 48456 and you are talking to a caller who selected you after listening to your message number 12
(you are told what group number was selected at the start of the call). You would tell the caller your extension number was 45612
The best advice I can give is to log on for calls whenever you are home, it's surprising how they build up.
It is quite usual to go several hours without a call, dont worry, they will come J
The best times are afternoons from around 3pm to 1-7pm and any time weekends.
It is very difficult to define what makes a recording popular. One thing I am sure about, is that the recordings that sound genuine work best.
Go easy on the sexy voice, be believable.
Read carefully section 3.2 of the ICSTIS code of practice
ICSTIS, the Independent Committee for the Supervision of Standards of Telephone Information Services, regulates the content and promotion of premium
rate telephone services and their code explains in detail what is NOT allowed.
We will terminate the contract of any operator who records a message which infringe these guidelines.
Every week our computer will print out a list of all the calls you took the previous week, we start and end our week at midnight on Sunday.
We send this list along with a cheque by first class post every Wednesday.
So no matter when you start you will not have to wait more than a week before you get paid.
You will be paid by the minute while you are talking.
We round the calls up, so if you do a call that lasts seven minutes, ten seconds, you would be paid for eight minutes.
If your earnings are less than £10 in a week, we will hold the money over until the amount we owe you exceeds £10.
All of our operators are self employed. This has certain advantages and disadvantages depending on your point of view.
If after reading this document you wish to proceed then you need to read, sign and return a copy of our standard
Self Employed Telephone Monitor Contract which defines the legal agreement between us.
On receipt of your completed contract we can then issue you with your unique operator number and PIN.
We strongly recommend that you also keep a copy for your own reference.
The contract is written in 'legal-ese' and if you have any doubts or worries about signing it we suggest you speak to a solicitor who would be happy to explain it to you.
In simple terms it states :-
