Shark fact:
Most sharks are caught by fisherman in search of other fish (bycatch). Their valuable fins are cut off to make soup, and the live shark thrown back to die.

What the European Elasmobranch Association is doing to help

The Association was set up in 1996 as a non-profit body to co-ordinate the activities of all European organisations dedicated to the study or conservation of sharks and rays. It seeks to advance research, sustainable management, conservation and education throughout the region, by promoting action on the above priorities. The Shark Trust supports the work of the Association in the UK.
