Who are we?

If you're involved in the music business or just have a passing curiosity, whether amateur or professional, The South East Music Alliance will help you get the most out of music.

Since SEMA was established in 1996 we've been helping people from ALL sectors of the music industry based in the S.E. of England. Our membership includes musicians, songwriters and performers, as well as recording studios, record companies, managers and agencies. Some of our activities include organising special networking events, periodical newsletters, marketing and business advice, fund raising, promoting new local talent and organising live concerts.

S.E.M.A. is a Non-Profit organisation whose main aims are:

  • Help create better opportunities for new bands, musicians, singers, songwriters and producers.
  • Endeavour to increase the number of live venues in the region.
  • Help raise the level of creative skills and expectation amongst local musicians, songwriters, managers and publishers.
  • Find and promote local talent.
  • Help keep recording and manufacturing costs to a minimum through 'collective bargaining'.
  • Keep our members informed of music industry developments through periodical newsletters.
  • Organise business and social 'networking' opportunities and marketing seminars.
  • Create a healthier music scene in the SE of England and raise awareness for musicians, bands and artists in the region.
  • Encourage local music companies and entrepreneurs to communicate and work closer together.
  • Increase the region's competitiveness on the world music market.
  • Organise membership into levels which will reflect members' requirements and be open to anyone with an interest in music who wishes to join.

The South East Music Alliance invites membership from everyone and anyone with an interest in music. We operate an Equal Opportunities policy and Open Membership. Applications for membership can be made in writing to: SEMA, PO Box 91, Reigate, Surrey, RH2 0FG or via our website (click here to join).
