Saint Blaise - Thrupp, Gloucestershire

Saint Blaise, the  giant was introduced to the world on the 24th March 2000.

In a combined venture with the Thrupp Primary School and the Stroudwater Textile Trust with additional funding from the National Lottery  the giant was commissioned to be included in a school project outlining the history of the local woollen industry.

Saint Blaise as the Patron Saint of wool workers was chosen to be the centrepiece of a procession,  which included music,  song and dance almost exclusively devised by the children.
