There is an enjoyable swing movement covering the whole of these "Greatest Hits" by the Stable Roof Jazz Band, which could go down well for advancement with today’s dance craze boom shown on our Television screens if brought to the attention of the relevant promoters, who I’m sure, would take well to the Latin American tempo in the Isle Of Capri for example - jazz style.

On the 1990 set, the trombonist is different from the one on the other three sets, with a change of trumpeter on the 1992 set. The liner leaflet expands with this in detail.

With all tracks being played to a very high standard, it makes for a good move by Timeless Records in creating this "Greatest Hits" selection album - a pleasurable, listening paradise.

A tune for clarinettist Acker Bilk fans, doubtless many of them still alive and kicking, Stranger On The Shore that’s great to hear it again after many years of silence on it by the man himself, is beautifully played here by the Stable Roof Jazz Band clarinettist Hans Hooymans - to his own interpretation of it.

There are no vocals on all these favourites, that is to say, except for on Lord You’ve Been So Good To Me, which features the blossom-tonal vocalist Marianne van Kleef, the third last track on the album.

This Greatest Hits album by the Stable Roof Jazz Band is a collection of jazz classics that will delight a wide jazz, dance and music listening audience.
