1: Pillarless body design

    The Nissan Prairie is unusual in having a pillarless body design (see right).

    As far as I know, prior to the launch of the Prairie, Lancia was the only manufacturer to produce pillarless designs (see far right) as series-production cars (as opposed to specially-commissioned, coachbuilt cars).

2: Ital Design Megagamma

    As mentioned elsewhere on this site, the Nissan Prairie bears a close visual resemblance to Ital Design's 1978 Megagamma concept.

    The Megagamma was based on the Lancia Gamma (hence the name), and actually carried a Lancia badge.
