In 1978, Giorgetto Giugiaro's Italian design house, Ital Design, released the Megagamma concept car (pictured right). When the Fiat Uno (also designed by Ital Design) was launched, Giugiaro acknowledged that the Megagamma had provided the main inspiration for the design. This is particularly evident in the 5-door Uno. The Nissan Prairie's shape was also clearly influenced by the design of the Megagamma (although Nissan maintained at the time of its 1982 launch that they had been working on it for around 10 years). |
