Training/briefing sessions
SfC's directors and managers have substantial experience in local authority and university settings of teaching, training and providing briefing sessions about subjects of topical interest.
We plan to develop a rolling programme that offers authoritative input and facilitated discussion (in half or whole-day sessions) about a range of topical subjects, eg:
- assessment for fostering and adoption
- permanence planning
- placement stability
- child protection in placements
- the Children and Young Persons Act 2008
- the new 'vetting and barring' system.
The linkage with CAE will also enable us to offer participants relevant pocket guides at a discounted price.
