SfC will not provide services which fail to meet this aim. Contact must never be allowed to be what suits parents or carers best and it must not be contact at any cost.
SfC is committed to:
- safeguarding the welfare of every child receiving a service from the agency
- recognising the value and worth of every individual
- ensuring that services provided are in the best interests of the child
- respecting the on-going nature of parental responsibility and accepting it sometimes has to be limited by a court order or in the best interests of a child
- anti-discriminatory values and practice that give due regard to race, culture, language, disability, gender and sexual orientation
- respecting the individual's right to confidentiality unless to protect a child or to prevent a crime we need to share relevant information within the agency, with courts and referring agencies.
