La Sausette is an old stone farmhouse, full of charm, surrounded by vines. Two granaries, located above the old winery and stables, have been converted into comfortable and charming guest accommodations

 The farm is 10 minutes by car from Carcassonne and 100 kms (80 minutes or less by car or train) from Toulouse airport.

For history enthusiasts, there are Cathar castles and the fortified City of Carcassonne within easy reach. Sportsmen can enjoy tennis, golf and lake swimming nearby. There are mountain bikes for hire and there's glorious unfenced walking all around. Wine enthusiasts can explore the Minervois, Corbieres, Limoux and Fitou vineyards and caves, all within the immediate Lanquedoc-Roussillon and Pyrenees regions.

Your kind and helpful, English hosts extend a warm welcome to those seeking romance and tranquility or family groups seeking a truly French holiday experience - they are a mine of information when it comes to local history, wine and nature.
Accommodations - the Bedrooms:
Three heated bedrooms, each with private bath or shower room (one is accessible by wheelchair): there are 2 doubles and a twin bedded room which can also be made up as a king size double.

The forge has been transformed into an enormous sittng room and dining room with a lovely fire-place.


There is a small self-catering cottage at the far end of the farmhouse which is let on a weekly basis - please ask for details.
 



 
 

Breakfast is a grand help-yourself affair and packed lunches are available. Other meals can be found in Carcassonne at 5 minutes distance and in some local villages. 24 hours advance notice for picnic lunches is helpful. Please let your hosts know if you are a vegetarian or have other particular dietary needs.
