La
Thiaummerie is a 270 year old farmhouse set in ½ an acre of its
own private gardens, surrounded by fields and apple orchards. It is
extremely well placed for touring the region and travelling further
afield to Brittany, the D-Day landing beaches, Honfleur or Rouen.
However, there are many lesser known but equally interesting places to
visit close at hand, as well as some of the most famous attractions in
France - Bayeux, Villedieu-les-Poeles (its famous copper and brass
market), Mont Saint Michel. Just 3 kms from La Thiaumerie is the nearest village of Domjean, proud of it's newly gained "4th flower" in the national competition for "Les Villages Fleuris de France". The church also has a wonderful display of modern paintings of the "Stations of the Cross" which are well worth a visit. |
| Accommodations: There
are two double bedrooms each with en-suite shower and toilet plus a
family suite which is suitable for 2 adults and up to 3 childen (two
bedrooms and one shower room - however, please note that only children over 12 years old
are accepted). All rooms have tea/coffee-making
facilities and hair-driers. There is also room for a travel cot
in the first floor double bedroom. The family suite has it's own entrance is split over two floors, with a private staircase from the main bedroom to the attic room. The shower room is en-suite within the main double bedroom. The garden has its own well, many shrubs and fruit trees and in summer we offer table tennis and boules to occupy the more active, or there are several places to sit quietly and take in the beautiful views over the surrounding farmland. To the side of the house there is a pretty terrace area where you can enjoy the afternoon and evening sunshine, watching the sun set below the apple orchard next door. |

Evening meals are available by arrangement (24 hours notice please) at 22.50€ per person for a 4 course dinner with aperitif, half a bottle of wine per person and coffee. For those arriving on an evening ferry it is possible to organise a late supper by special arrangement. Pre-dinner drinks are served in the lounge or on the terrace in good weather. The lounge is also an area where you can feel free to sit and study maps, plan days out, sit and read or relax and chat with other guests.
