Just off Boulevard Georges V and Rue de Pessac in a very quite street, this is an ideal base for explorations of Bordeaux city and the surrounding vineyards and countryside. Martine may be new to bed and breakfast but she’s very used to making guests feel welcome: she owns a lovely restaurant, "Le Loup", in Bordeaux old town.

A good walk (just over a mile) takes you to the gates of the great Chateaux of the Pessac appelation which now lies well within the city limits - Haut Brion and La Mission Haut Brion and the spectacular historic old city centre in the other direction.

Accommodations: Her old stone townhouse has been given a light, modern touch which works well. The one guest bedroom is approached up a curved stone staircase and you have the whole floor to yourselves. The windows overlook a small courtyard garden and there is a desk and other stencilled furniture. The bed can be arranged as a large double or as two separate single beds: there is a good bathroom en-suite.

Continental breakfast is included in the basic price and there is a wide choice of restaurants within walking distance for other meals including your host's own very traditional eatery.

There is a tram station with direct connections to the city centre at 500 metres and bus stops are closer on the the Rue de Pessac.
