I play solo piano boogie woogie, blues and jazz. I have played at corporate functions, college May balls, weddings and at restaurants, bars and pubs, and have always enjoyed an enthusiastic response to my music. It seems that a boogie woogie bass gives everyone, even people who are not familiar with complex jazz, something to tap their feet to, while the melody can drift and leap about over the beat and provides enough variation to keep the jazz fans excited. At least, I hope that's the case.

Once at a Cambridge college May ball, a long haired man stood up at the end of an especially gruesome and unlikely improvisation to shout, "Yeah Man. That was mental." I think it was a compliment.
