Mrs Redknapp

Good to see Louise perform live on last night's lottery show on BBC1. The very lovely pop star has gone straight into the UK singles charts at number three with her new single, '2 Faced', from the forthcoming album 'Elbow Beach'.

Gay Icons

Michael Owen and Jamie Redknapp will be very pleased for me mentioning the news that a recent pole makes them the top 10 most fanciable players amongst gay men see Football365.

Summerwhere

Nicky Summerbee is on the verge of moving to Bradford City for 1.5 million pounds, but is struggling to decide. See Football365

More Surgery Kneeded

Poor old Jamie Redknapp ! The Liverpool captain has been told he needs yet another operation, which means that he'll be out for yet another five months. See Official Liverpool FC Website - News Article - Jamie suffers further blow - 17-7-2000 Indeed the complaint could still yet end Jamie's career, see Football365

And Finally ...

The rather fabulous daily newspaper from Football365 today has the following snippet about Gabby Yorath ...

On The Ball Reporting
According to The Mirror, everybody's favourite football presenter is set to make a move in to Big Boys' Telly. Yep, On The Ball's Gabby Yorath wants to try her hand at reading the news, presumably feeling that she's taken football broadcasting as far as the medium can allow.

The Mirror, ingeniously, have dressed it up as some sort of a "news shoot-out with Kirsty Young", and who's to say if La Gab will be any better or worse at it than anybody else?

Can we just take a second, though, to enjoy this super PR guff from 'an ITV source': "Gabby is worth every penny because she's got a great attitude and the viewers love her. She appeals to blokes, who see a very attractive woman with an impressive knowledge of sport, and to women, because they feel she's on their side in what has been an all-male environment."

Put another way, she's a) Younger than Bob Wilson, b) Better looking than Big Ron and c) Knows a bit more about football than Carol Vorderman.

Viva Jordi

Jordi has moved from Manchester United and joined the Spanish Premiership side Alaves for a Bosman free. Jordi announced at the end of the season that he would be going, as he was unable to get into the Man U first team on a regular basis. Also he's not as good a footballer as his Dad - though I'm sure he's a wonderful, warm-hearted and complete human being, and he's definately better than me. See REDCAFE.net News Cruyff completes Alaves switch about the move, and for any Spanish readers out there see Jordi's profile at Plantilla Glorioso Jordi Cruyff. Jamie Ed-knapp

Jamie Redknapp is the guest editor of Match of the Day magazine for August 2000. Chiefly this seems to involve having his photo taken in the editor's office and offically opening the office's new drinks machine. See Jamie's editorial at July 2000 review

Frank Lamp-hard

The England under-21s, including Frank Lampard, have been 'caught with their trousers down', so as to speak, acting like, well, under-21's. It involved young women, and making videos with adult themes. A view far more in keeping with popular opinion than the tabloids could ever be can be found at Rio & Frank - Pratts Or Perverts - West Ham Online
