Christies held a sale of football memorabilia 27 September 2001. It raised 231,057 pounds for the various sellers. 1966 players' memorabila continues to be highly valued as are any pre-2nd War artifacts ... and David Beckham's boots. The most valuable single item was the 1899 FA Cup Winners medal of George Hedley, Sheffield United made in 15ct Gold, which raised nearly 10,000 pounds

This site's favourite item sold for 'just' 446 pounds 50p and was described as:
