Following the
20th anniversary of his death, Liverpool have a tribute
to Bill Shankly worth a visit at Shankly - Gone But Never

Christies held a sale of football
memorabilia 27 September 2001. It raised 231,057 pounds
for the various sellers. 1966 players' memorabila
continues to be highly valued as are any pre-2nd War
artifacts ... and David Beckham's boots. The most
valuable single item was the 1899 FA Cup Winners medal of
George Hedley, Sheffield United made in 15ct Gold, which
raised nearly 10,000 pounds
This site's
favourite item sold for 'just' 446 pounds 50p and was
described as:
'A limited edition sterling silver Esso, 1970 England
World Cup Coin Collection, produced by The Franklin
Mint, in blue presentation folder; and an Esso
F.A.Cup Centenary coin collection.' Wow ! If anyone
has a spare one in the attic do feel free to send it
