It's official ! The Leeds United 1972 FA Cup winning team was the top FA Cup Winning team of the Seventies. Nearly 600 votes were recorded in the most highly rigged poll since the Florida Presidential elections ! Or at least the most highly rigged since Ron Harris was voted the English League football's toughest player on this same site. Leeds United pulled ahead at the very last minute to overhaul the 1970 Chelsea team - a reverse of the outcome of the 1970 final itself as it happens! The 1977 Manchester United team were an unlikely 3rd place. Well done Leeds, better luck vote rigging in the future, Chelsea. See Quizlet

James Mechan's great site of Ayr United memorabilia, has expanded his 1970-71 information. See 7071 - which includes pictures of a very young Dave Stewart (Ayr United) , and Alex Ingram (Nottingham Forest).

This follows George Chilvers, who was kind enough develop the 70-71 information on his site at Wigan's 70-71 season.
