County on loan 0 apps Signed for Chesterfield December 1977 [77-79] 63 apps Signed for Swansea September 1979 [79-80] 21 apps Total 112 apps GLAN, joined Scunthorpe on loan from Leeds United in August 1976 and made 27 Fourth Division appearances while at the Old Show Ground, and was picked twice for Wales Under 21's during his loan spell from Leeds. He also made a further appearance for Wales Under 23's whilst at Leeds, against Scotland in 1976, and 10 Welsh Youth International appearances, and played in numerous practice matches. He made his one and only League game for Leeds United, in a home win against Ipswich Town in April 1975, at the age of 19. This was not Glan's first, first team game though as he came off the substitutes bench to keep goal at the age of seventeen and a half, in the UEFA Cup tie against Hibernian in November 1973, Leeds winning on penalties. Glan was also an unused substitute for the 1975 European Cup Final against Bayern Munich. His first full first team appearance for the Iron was against Mansfield away in the League Cup 14th August 1976, making his League debut a week later at home against Rochdale his last appearance in the Iron's colours came at home to Southend 5th March 1977. He kept eight cleansheets in his 27 league games for the Iron, whilst on loan in nearly seven months the longest loan signing at the time. He was transferred to Chesterfield in December 1977 for £10,000, and made 63 appearances for them, before John Toshack signed him for Swansea City for £50,000 in September 1979, and played in goal during their meteoric rise from the Fourth Division to the First Division. He played 21 league games for Swansea before being displaced by Dave Stewart and subsequently played non-league football for Oxford City, Scarborough, and Bangor City. While at Bangor City Glan made a Wembley appearance in the F.A.Trophy Final in 1983/84 drawing 1-1 against Northwich Victoria, before losing in the reply at Stoke 2-1, then finishing his playing career at Llanelli in the Welsh League. Glan was called upon 12 times by Wales, for the Full International squad, but had to settle for a place on the substitute, as understudy to Dai Davies of Wrexham, in all the games never gaining a full cap, all bar the last one was while at Chesterfield. After finishing playing he qualified as a coach, gaining a UEFA 'A' licence, and a goalkeeping UEFA 'A' licence. Glan then took up the following positions, goalkeeping coach and scouting for Swansea City, as well as coaching abroad for St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Vincent and Hayti, presently at the date of writing goalkeeping coach for National Schoolboy level for the Welsh Football Association.
