Enrico Albertosi (goalkeeper)

The most consistent
goalkeeper in the Italian League with 13 years experience
in 1he First Division. Played 10 years with Fiorentina.
This is his third season with Cagliari, A full
international with over 30 caps. He played in the World
Cup both in England in 1966 and in Mexico in 1970.
Adriano Reginato (goalkeeper).
Made his reputation
with fine displays for Turin and Lanerossi Vicenza.
Signed by Cagliari in 1966-67. This 34-year-old
goalkeeper is still agile and fearless. Substitutes for
Albertosi.
Cesare Poli (defender).
Made his reputation
with Lanerossi Vicenza and joined Cagliari in 1970. Very
strong in the tackle and a very tight marksman. A
versatile player who proves himself both in attack and
defence.
Roberto De Petri
(defender).
Born in Udine.
Strong in the tackle and good in the air, An Under-23
international, signed by Cagliari last year for
150,000. Roberto is one of Cagliari's best
defenders.
Mario Martiradonna (defender).
Born at Bari.
Joined Cagliari in 1962 from Reggiana a Second Division
team, Since 1964 he has held a regular place in the
Cagliari team. His marking is very tight and he does not
leave space for his opponents.
Eraldo Mancin
(defender).
Played for
Fiorentina before joining Cagliari. An attacking
full-back, Won an Italian League Championship medal in
1969.
Giuseppe Tomasini (defender).
Had international
experience with the Olympic team which toured England in
1967 , Joined Cagliari from Brescia in 1968 for a fee of
100,000 pounds. A sweeper who is dominant in the air.
Under-23 international.
Comunardo Niccolai (defender).
He joined Cagliari
in 1964, plays rigidly as a stopper and is very good in
the air, An outstanding player in defence and a member of
the Italian international party in Mexico for the World
Cup.
Pierluigi Cera
(defender).
Signed by Cagliari
from Verona in 1964-65 for a fee of 75,000 pounds. Since
then he has rarely missed a game in seven years. He is
versatile and can fill any defence position and in the
World Cup in Mexico successfully moved to a sweeper in
the national team. He is the most stylish player in the
Cagliari team.
Angelo Domenghini (forward).
A youth player with
Atlanta before moving to Internazionale in 1964 for a
reported fee of 200,000, Signed for Cagliari in
1969. Has appeared in both the World Cups in England in
1966 and Mexico in 1970.
Mario Brugnera (forward).
Born in Venezia. A
versatile forward who made his name whilst playing for
Fiorentina. He plays a schemer role and can also be
dangerous as a striker. Under-23 international.
Corrado Nastasio (forward).
Joined Cagriari in
1969- 70. Very quick off the mark and a striker with fine
ball control, Nastasio is a pure and simple old type of
winger.
Luigi Riva
(forward).
Started in League
soccer when he was 18 with the Third Division team
Legnano, his home town team who transferred him to
Cagliari for 22,000 pounds. Basically a striker who will
find his opportunity from any position in the forward
line A very difficult player to mark, Italian soccer fans
have made a national figure of Riva. Since the World Cup
in England in 1966 he has become internationally known
top scorer in the First Division of the Italian League
for the past three seasons.
He has broken his leg twice with the national team,
against Portugal in 1967 and against Austria in 1970,
since then his team has lost 45% of the gate because of
his absence, mainly young girls.
Having scored seven goals out of ten for Italy in the
World Cup qualifying rounds he put them into the finals
in Mexico. Riva quote "I am not an actor, writer,
salesman, singer or anything else, I live only for
football". The reply from a girl fan was "Long
live fotoball" Recently Cagliari turned down 650,000
pounds cash for his transfer.

Sergio Gori (forward).
Born in Milan He
started his football career with Internazionale being
transferred to Cagliarl in 1969 for a 200,000 fee
and in his first season with the club won a League
Championship medal. A striker who is very quick off the
mark, powerful and a very good dribbler, Italian
international with three caps and he made his debut with
the Mexico World Cup squad.
Ricciotti Greatti
(forward).
Has been with
Cagliari for the last eight years A very consistent and
skilful midfield player in the Italian League. He shows
accuracy In his distribution and prompting the strikers
of Cagliari's attack, He is an ideal link man between the
defence and attack.
Olinto Claudio de Corvalho Nene (forward).
Born in Brazil and
was with Santos before signing for Juventus in 1963
Transferred to Cagliari in 1964-65 Thin, tall, very good
in the air A versatile player who is equally at home in
any attack,ng position although he wears a number seven
shirt. Made his reputation as a goalscorer with Juventus.
