Matt's Page of Translations
(16/11/99) University squashed, gainfully employed, ... even less time free than before ;P. Ma, ii ka...
<Tease mode>
Mac7 Trash Drama CD... javascript karaoke widget dragged out of the attic and kicked into all-purpose invincible titler...
watch this space in a few weeks... :) </tease mode>
(Go buy that CD [Victor VICL-802], it's rib-splittingly funny :).
As for the rest. Trash volumes 6 and 7 will happen... sometime (yakusoku da yo!), and also probably Mylene
Beat if I can prise it from the cold lifeless hands of one of the local Macrossites; PSME and Yokohama will
likewise continue the moment I can scrape up the barest millifortnight of time to attack them. For the good of my
Japanese skills, I'll try to do a chapter of *something* every week or two, but the days of quashing whole
volumes at once are probably over for now. Dear Santa: For christmas, please send a supply of 26 hour days...
(24/05/99) Still alive, but a bit busy graduating. Did grab a few minutes to run my gratuitously huge collection of translation links
through bk2site to make them easier to navigate; I'll probably do something more with that in the future. And, I finally got my
mits on a (borrowed) copy of Mac7 Trash 6, which will follow, hopefully, in a few weeks' time. Patience...
(27/03/99) Mac7 Trash Volume 5 done, completed, finished. This page needs reworking more
than ever, but do I have time? Nope. Another three months, and I'm outta here... hopefully.
(28/02/99) Squished all known remaining bugs in Macross 7 Trash volume 4 with Ben-kun's help; the bits which had me
flummoxed before make sense now :). We also did the first three chapters of Volume 5 which will be forthcoming if I
get time to mark them up. Still no sign of Volume 6 or Mylene Beat for those who asked.
(14/02/99) Threw up a load of Compiler translations that appear to be homeless here.
(24/01/99) Oopsy, there's always one. Added the Escaflowne chapter I did ages and ages ago. I had forgotten about it.
(21/01/99) This is a QuickieUpdate(TM). Yes it's been a hideously long time since I updated these pages. Well, I've been busy with my
degree... but I haven't entirely been idle translation-wise. Some of the new stuff lacks an amount of editing compared to
my earlier work, but there is but one of me and my time is limited. Any offers of help would of course be gratefully
appreciated. Maybe we could do with an "Amateur translators" mailing list - goodness knows there's enough translation
going on out there (look in my bookmarks in the translation section to see how much. This is
incidentally by far the most complete collection of manga translation links I know of ;). Need to host it somewhere
sensible though - none of those commercial sites that put ads in to make a "free" service. If someone
reads this and could be interested that would be just great, otherwise that's another back-burner project onto the pile...
(and my *front* burner projects are all starved already. Bleh :P)
Anyway. Onto the goodies...
New!
- Macross 7 Trash Vol. 5
- Rejoice, for it is done. Ben-kun was nailed down as per spec, and we just managed to get it all done before he disappears.
I promise it was worth the wait for this is a scorcher :)
Macross 7 Trash Vol. 3 & Vol. 4
- Volume three was done a while back by Koji, who has unfortunately been busy with work ever since. So,
eventually yours truly was persuaded to attack volume four; Thanks to Ben-kun, it should now all be
right.
Volume five will be forthcoming sometime if I can nail him down before he disappears off to Japan for 6 months
(this is hard stuff, y'know =^^=;)
Please Save My Earth Vol. 1, Vol.2 Ch.1
- PSME is a personal favourite of mine, and I finally worked up to tackling some of it in the
hope that more people will be able to enjoy this gem by Hiwatari Saki. (I just know I'm going to regret
starting this, it's so dense and there are *21* volumes of it!. But it's so cute I couldn't resist... =^^=)
Yokohama Shopping Trip Diary Vol. 1
- Yokohama is another of my favourites, for completely different reasons. A relaxing manga; very beautiful,
and a delightful change from the usual. EX did a good review a while back for anyone curious.
Earthian vol.1 chapter 3
- There's various other bits of this translated here
Record of Lodoss War: Lady of Falis
- ...Will be commercially released by CPM Manga, but I translated it for a friend from the French release
some time ago. Mail me if interested.
Tenkuu no Escaflowne (Katsu Aki version) vol.1 chapter 1
- No real plans to carry on with this one myself, but perhaps someone can make use of this first double-length chapter

Karaoke
Had a bit of a brainwave the other day; "Browser... Fire Bomber... Browser... Fire Bomber... Hmm.... Javascript Karaoke Widget!". It's
a little unpolished (and there are a few bugs in the script times), but hey, I only knocked the thing up in an afternoon. Tell me
what you think...
