This bright and bubbly cat-girl seems to have been Vaughn's friend from childhood. Along with the large ears and prehensile stripy tail, Meryl also has a magpie's disregard for ownership in the presence of the interesting or sparkly; something which earns her the continuing annoyance of Hitomi, who has on her a large number of things from Earth that fall into both categories...
