Hitomi Kanzaki

The erstwhile heroine of the story, Hitomi at first seems to be an ordinary Japanese schoolgirl (And anyone who believes that...). At the start, we learn that she has a major crush on the captain of the boys' track team, Susumu Amano, but just as things seem like they might be getting interesting... Hitomi also seems to have somewhat of a talent for Tarot, as evidenced by the classmates who try to stop her to get a reading in the first episode, and a rather unusual pendant given to her by her grandmother.
Her best friend Yukari acts as a kind of "track manager" to Hitomi's own sporting efforts.
